Drywall Repair in Brevard County, Florida
Most of our work is repair, and most repairs are small. A stain that spread after a roof leak, a crack that opens over a doorway every summer, a hole where a door handle went through the hall wall. We patch it, match the texture around it, and leave it ready for paint.
Repairs we take every week
- Water and storm damage. Brevard takes weather. After a roof leak, a blown-out window, or a supply line that let go, the board has to come out back to sound framing — painting over a water stain just hides it until it comes back. We cut back to dry material, check that what is behind it is dry too, and reboard.
- Settling and stress cracks. The crack running diagonally off a door or window corner is the house moving. We tape it properly instead of filling it with compound, because filled cracks reopen in a season.
- Ceiling patches. Ceilings are unforgiving — every light in the room rakes across them. Access holes from plumbing or wiring work, sagging sheets, and old patches that were never blended in all get flattened and retextured.
- Popcorn ceiling patches. A hole, a water stain, or an access cut in a popcorn or acoustic ceiling. We repair the damaged area and retexture just that area to match the ceiling around it. We don't scrape popcorn ceilings off — see below for why.
- Nail pops and screw pops. A whole wall of little round bumps is a fastening problem, not a paint problem. We reset, refasten, and coat.
- Holes, dings, and door handles. Doorknob holes, moved furniture, mounted TVs that came down, pet damage along a baseboard.
- Humidity and coastal damage. Bathrooms without working exhaust, garage walls on the beachside, block-and-fur exterior walls where moisture has come through the block.
Popcorn ceilings: we patch them, we don't scrape them
Brevard is full of popcorn and acoustic ceilings, and they get damaged like any other ceiling — a roof leak leaves a ring, a plumber cuts an access hole, a sheet starts to sag. Patching that area and rebuilding the popcorn texture over the patch so it blends into the rest of the ceiling is minor repair work, and it is a normal job for us.
Scraping the popcorn off an entire ceiling is a different job. It is resurfacing, not repair, it runs past what we handle, and it belongs to a licensed contractor. We will say so on the phone rather than quote it.
One thing to settle before anyone touches an old ceiling. Popcorn and acoustic finishes installed before the mid-1980s can contain asbestos. We do not test for it, and we will not disturb a ceiling that might have it. If the house is that old, have a sample tested first by a licensed asbestos consultant. If the result is positive, the work belongs to a licensed asbestos contractor — Florida licenses asbestos consultants and asbestos contractors under their own law, separate from every other trade, and it covers anyone who removes, encapsulates, or encloses asbestos-containing material. Get the test back clean and we can patch it like any other ceiling.
Small jobs are welcome
Plenty of drywall outfits will not return a call for one patch. We will. A single ceiling repair or one bad wall is a normal day for us, and it is usually how a customer finds out whether they want us back the next time something cracks.
We work in occupied houses constantly. Furniture gets covered, floors get protected, doorways get plastic, and sanding dust gets controlled instead of tracked through the rest of the house.
Why the patch usually shows — and how we stop it
A repair fails visually for three reasons: the edges were built up into a ridge instead of feathered out wide, the texture on the patch does not match the texture around it, or nobody looked at the wall in the light that room actually gets.
So we feather wide, mix and throw texture by hand to match what is already there, and check the finished surface in daylight and under the room's own fixtures before calling it done. The goal is simple: you should not be able to find where we worked.
What drives the price of a drywall repair
- How much board has to come out, and whether what is behind it is dry and sound
- Ceiling or wall — ceilings take longer and are held to a tighter standard
- The existing texture, and how hard it is to match into
- How many coats the repair needs, since each one needs real dry time
- Access, protection, and cleanup in an occupied room

Common questions
Drywall Repair in Brevard County, answered
- Do you do small drywall repairs, or only big jobs?
- We take single repairs. One ceiling patch or one damaged wall is a normal job for us, and we quote it the same way every time — in person, in writing, free.
- Can you match my existing texture?
- Yes, that is most of the work in a good repair. We match knockdown, orange peel, splatter, and hand textures by mixing and throwing to match the wall you already have, then judging it from the doorway the way you will.
- Do you paint after the repair?
- We leave the surface finished and ready for paint, and we coordinate with your painter. Tell us at the estimate if painting needs to be part of the job and we will tell you honestly how we would handle it.
- My ceiling has a water stain. Can you just patch it?
- Only after the leak is fixed and the area is dry. Patching over wet or compromised board hides the problem for a few months and then it comes back worse. We will tell you what we find when we look at it.
- Can you patch a hole in a popcorn ceiling?
- Yes. Patching the damaged area and retexturing it to match the popcorn around it is minor repair work and a normal job for us. What we don't do is scrape a whole popcorn ceiling off — that is a resurfacing job for a licensed contractor, not a repair.
- Is asbestos a problem with an old popcorn ceiling?
- It can be. Popcorn and acoustic ceilings put up before the mid-1980s sometimes contain asbestos. We don't test for it and we won't disturb a ceiling that might have it. If your house is that old, have a sample tested by a licensed asbestos consultant first. If it comes back positive, the work belongs to a licensed asbestos contractor — Florida licenses both of those separately from any other trade.
- How fast can you come out?
- Usually within a couple of days for an estimate. Call (321) 252-9702 and describe what happened — we can often tell you over the phone roughly what the repair involves.
